SIA RAGS – A Family Business Story

SIA RAGS is an authentic family-owned company founded in Latvia on June 15, 1993.

The founders – family members with a strong interest in the automotive industry – started with a very small shop and workshop in Riga.

The company specializes in the import, export, and sale of automotive body repair materials, including fillers, primers, clear coats, and paints. Over time, the range of products and services expanded.

The early years were full of challenges – from waves of inflation to market instability – but perseverance enabled growth, and in 1995 the company registered for VAT, which facilitated cooperation with foreign suppliers.

By the early 2000s, RAGS had become a reliable partner for local car repair workshops, and in 2003 SIA RAGS launched its own brand, STONDER – an internationally registered trademark based on products tested in its own laboratories.

Over time, two “Stonder” product standards were established:

• STONDER – a wide range of automotive repair materials at an affordable price
• STONDER Professional – high-quality products delivering results that meet expert requirements

Latvia’s accession to the EU in 2004 opened new doors, and the company received recognition as one of the TOP 500 largest companies in Latvia by net turnover (for example, in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2023).

In 2022, RAGS signed an agreement with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia for EU fund support to strengthen international competitiveness, which helped modernize supply chains.

Today, the company is one of the leading suppliers of automotive repair materials and painting equipment.
